hike around the Wetland.
Natural Land Institute presents “Wander at the Wetland: Moonlight
Snowshoe & Ski”, Sunday, January 8, 2012, from 4:32 p.m. until 7:08
p.m., at Nygren Wetland Preserve, 3190 W. Rockton Rd., Rockton, IL.
Families and individuals of all ages are invited to enjoy the winter
weather in the unique setting of a prairie, wetlands and forest during
the moonlit hours of early evening. Attendees can snowshoe, ski, or hike
around Natural Land Institute’s 700-acre Nygren Wetland Preserve. They
can take a tour with a volunteer guide or explore the winter beauty of
the preserve on their own while they imagine what early residents of
this area thought when they viewed the wetlands and prairies during this
season. A full moon, snowscape, bonfire and luminaries will provide the
backdrop for an evening of outdoor fun. Refreshments will be provided.
Individuals are invited to rent or bring their own equipment.
Snowshoes, skis and kids equipment can be rented from Paddle & Trail for
a $10 rental fee (reserve equipment by or before Friday, January 6:

Admission is free, however, donations to Natural Land Institute will
