815 Outside Sunset Soiree

April 26 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Join 815 Outside partner organizations for guided hikes and celebrations as we kick off City Nature Challenge and wrap up the 815 Outside program. Hikes will leave from the Indian Springs shelter house at 5:15 and 6:15, and Big Jon’s Dogs N’ More food truck will be on site offering delicious food (including vegan and gluten free options) throughout the event. This is a family friendly event, and leashed dogs are welcome. A limited quantity of 815 Outside t-shirts will be available for FREE (adult and children sizes available), and we will provide a $10 off food coupon for the first 100 people!

Here is the full statement from 815 Outside:

“After much consideration and deliberation, the partners involved with 815 Outside have come to the difficult decision to dissolve the partnership effective April 30, 2024. This decision was not made lightly, and it comes after thorough discussions and assessments of various factors affecting the partnership. While we had high hopes and aspirations for the venture, it has become evident that continuing with the current structure is no longer feasible for all parties involved.
We want to assure you that this decision was made with the best interests of everyone in mind. You will continue to see 815 Outside partners working together on different programs and projects (i.e. public programs and habitat restoration efforts), but not as a collaborative under 815 Outside.
Please know that the partners’ commitment to helping people find their place outside in northern Illinois remains unwavering. We ask that you consider following each agency on social media and/or join their email list to stay up to date on the programs that each partner provides for the community. Additionally, the 815 Outside website and YouTube channel will remain live to ensure that the guides, maps, and other resources remain accessible.
We want to take this opportunity to express our sincerest gratitude for your support and participation in 815 Outside. While the decision to dissolve the partnership is undoubtedly a difficult one, we are confident that it opens up new opportunities for all of us.
We look forward to seeing you on the trails or at a program soon!”
