First Saturday Stewardship Day at Keefer Nature Reserve

This community service opportunity benefits nature and humans!

Join NLI staff and other volunteers on the first Saturday of the month now through March to remove non-native brush like honeysuckle and buckthorn, carry cut brush to the burn pile, monitor the burn pile, and other tasks as needed.

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Dress for the weather in layers. Wear natural fiber outerwear. Wear sturdy closed toe shoes. Bring work gloves if you have them, otherwise a few pairs will be available to borrow. Bring your own water bottle and snacks.

Tools will be provided as needed.

Park in the parking lot at 12804 Old River Rd., Rockton, IL 61072.
