Nature Poetry & Prose and Book Debut
NLI, in partnership with Nature at the Confluence, will present the fifth annual Nature Poetry & Prose event on Fri., Sep. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Be inspired by nature themed poetry and prose as you listen to writers read their creative compositions that commemorate their experiences and observations of the natural world.
Writers that will be present at the event include: Carolyn Bailey, Dorothy Bock, Mary Caskey, Ed Collins, Sandra Fenton, Carol Fox, Wilda Morris, Christopher D. Sims, Christine Swanberg, Lani Richardson, and Dr. Karen Blake Ruffner,
Event Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Come early or by 6:30 p.m. to mingle. At 6:45 we will start the program with welcoming remarks and announcements. Readings will begin at 7:00 p.m. and go until 8:15 p.m. Book sales and signing will follow the program.
Cost: FREE for NLI members. $5 for non NLI members and includes a one-time six month introductory membership to NLI. Light snacks and beverages will be available including hot cider and make your own s’mores.
We are excited to include, at this event, the debut of a new book published by Natural Land Institute. It is an anthology of poetry and prose called, NATURAL VOICES: CELEBRATING NATURE WITH OPENED EYES. The book is a collection of pieces written by past Nature Poetry & Prose participants – Carolyn Bailey, Dorothy Bock, Mary Caskey, Ed Collins, Sandra Fenton, Carol Fox, Don Miller, Wilda Morris, Chelsea Peterson, Christopher D. Sims, Christine Swanberg, Lani Richardson, Dr. Karen Blake Ruffner, and Kaitlyn Tibbetts.
The writers attending Nature Poetry & Prose will sign copies of the anthology that will be available to purchase that evening ($12 suggested donation).
