Thank you to the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation for a grant to purchase the adjacent Kenney property in early 2023, and thank you to all of the donors who helped match the grant with their donations for this land acquisition.

The Lind-McGeachie Preserve is an 89-acre natural area located in southwest Rockford with Silver Creek meandering through it and consists of primarily oak-hickory woodland and an 18-acre area of pollinator meadow. This preserve consists of four tracts of land acquired at different times: the Lind tract in 1987, the McGeachie tract in 1992, a section in 2020 and the fourth section in 2023.
