Tuesday Restoration at Keefer Nature Reserve
February 7 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until March 28, 2023

Contribute valuable community service for the natural environment when you participate in volunteer restoration days at the Keefer Nature Reserve.
Land stewardship plays a key role in Natural Land Institute’s mission to protect and preserve natural areas. Restoring land to native habitat creates a healthy biological ecosystem that flora and fauna need to thrive and survive. We couldn’t do it without the many volunteers that help our stewardship staff.
Join Laura Helmich, NLI’s Stewardship Technician, as she leads volunteer restoration days every Tuesday from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the William & Gayle Keefer Nature Reserve. Tasks will range from collecting seeds from native wildflowers and grasses to invasive non-native brush removal and clearing for trails.
This private preserve in Rockton, Illinois is owned by Natural Land Institute and will be open to the public in the near future. Help us get it ready for the community to explore and enjoy.
Dress for the weather. Wear sturdy shoes or boots. Bring your own work gloves, snacks and water.
Call/text or email Laura to let her know you want to help on a specific day or for any questions: 712-301-1208, lhelmich@naturalland.org.
