Volunteer Stewardship at Howard D. Colman Dells NP
May 7 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
Join site steward, Chris Reisetter, to volunteer for land stewardship at Howard D. Colman Dells Nature Preserve. Spring is a great time to see this private preserve owned by Natural Land Institute when you volunteer. The spring wildflowers are abundant and the hilly terrain is beautiful with the backdrop of the dells along Hall Creek.
Volunteer tasks include cutting invasive non-native brush like honeysuckle, Japanese barberry, multiflora rose, buckthorn and more, and helping monitor the burn pile.
Be sure to dress for the weather including long sleeves, pants, and sturdy shoes. Bring work gloves, loppers or shears, water, snacks, and brown bag lunch if you work all day from 9 am – 3pm. Or work as long as your schedule allows.
Let Chris know you want to help and get directions from him at: call/text 815-985-7208 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Ask to be added to his email list so you get future notifications about volunteer days since they vary.
