60th Anniversary Celebration Dinner
NLI celebrated 60 years of protecting natural areas on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. The guest speaker was Alan Branhagen, author of Native Plants of the Midwest. Debra Carey, Executive Director of Dixon Park District, received the George and Barbara Fell Award that recognizes outstanding land conservation leadership and accomlishments. The Tom Flanigan Jazz Group from Chicago provided musical entertainment. A silent auction helped raise funds to support the mission of NLI. Kerry Leigh, Executive Director, highlighted the past 60 years and shared plans for the future. All photos by Jill Kennay.

Family Nature Day 2017
Kids to adults enjoyed exploring 11 learning stations scattered among the prairies and wetlands at Nygren Wetland Preserve on Sat., June 24, 2017. Kids earned a Nygren Wetland Junior Naturalist Badge if they got their passport stamped from at least 6 learning stations.
