
Lind-McGeachie Preserve
Open to the public as of September 28, 2023. Thank you for cooperating with our pet-free policy. Trails through the woods and around the pollinator meadow are available for walking. No motor vehicles or bicycles allowed.
The Lind-McGeachie Preserve is an 89-acre natural area located in southwest Rockford with Silver Creek meandering through it and consists of primarily oak-hickory woodland and an 18-acre area of pollinator meadow. This preserve consists of four tracts of land acquired at different times: the Lind tract in 1987, the McGeachie tract in 1992, a section in 2020 and the fourth section in early 2023.
