Join us in creating an enduring legacy of natural land in northern Illinois. Become a member of the Natural Land Institute. As a member, you will join with others committed to leaving to future generations the uniquely beautiful place that is northern Illinois.
We each have memories of the special places where wild and natural lands spoke to us and changed our lives. When we describe our communities, we always speak of our landscapes. Northern Illinois is a land of prairies, river valleys, endless plains, and upland forests that create a sense of place and identity.
You can help to preserve and enhance that legacy by becoming a member of the Natural Land Institute.

- Members may receive permission to visit our preserves that are not open to the public.
- Members receive email news updates and early notification of significant natural events
- Four newsletters per year are mailed to you (Annual Report, fall Land & Nature, Notes from the Field/winter and summer)
- Receive discounted tickets to events and invitations to Members Only events
Natural Land Institute is a tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Membership Donation
To become a member of NLI, please fill out the form below. You can complete your membership donation through the secure PayPal site with your PayPal account or by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover). You may choose to make an annual donation, or an automatic monthly donation. The monthly donation you have indicated will be withdrawn from your account until you contact us to discontinue. You may call the NLI office at 815-964-6666 to request a stop payment at anytime.
Gift Membership to NLI
Think birthday, holiday, anniversary, or any type of celebration as a way to give the gift of nature and provide support for land conservation and protection when you give an annual NLI membership to your friends and family members.
Your NLI gift membership supports the work we do together to create an enduring legacy of natural land in northern Illinois for people, plants and animals. It also creates awareness about the work of NLI with the person who receives your gift, who will receive communications from us on an ongoing basis.
When you purchase a membership let us know that it’s a gift and we will send a notification letter, Certificate of Membership, and a new member packet to your gift recipient. You can purchase a gift membership online in the form below (Fill out the section asking if this is a gift) or call our office to do it over the phone. We suggest individual memberships at the $35 level, couples at $50, and families at $100. Give at a level you are comfortable with.
