The State of Illinois and Boone County are funding a project to study the geology of Boone County to better understand how the different layers and structures below the land surface allow water to move within it.
NLI is pleased to share this second article written by Dan Kane, Water Resource Specialist, Boone County, in a series regarding information about the 3-Dimensional Geologic Mapping Project that will soon occur in Boone County. A Public Information and Media Day will occur just prior to the start of the collection of data for the geologic mapping project slated to begin in late February or early March 2025.
