Volunteer for Natural Land Institute land stewardship/restoration days or for a land trust near you. Invasive brush removal and collecting seeds from native plants are two of the common volunteer jobs. But there’s always more to do including planting native plugs or seedlings, distributing seeds, mowing and clearing trails, removing fence, and fixing things.

Protect Water Quality

One of the ways to combat climate change is through ensuring clean water for everyone. Region 1 Planning Council is spearheading two watershed projects in Rockford, Ill.
